Daytona Bike Week

Daytona Bike Week 2010

By

Ghost Rider

Your friends at Ghost Riders Leather would like to invite you to visit the first big motorcycle rally of 2010.  Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Fl will be held February 26 through March 7.  It is your chance to join the thousands of other bikers who are making plans to break out of the winter blues and get rid of their cabin fever.

Approximately 500,000 bikers make their way to Daytona Bike Week for the 10-day event.  They will enjoy themselves by visiting biker bars, restuarants, bike shops, strip clubs, camp grounds, transit biker businesses, tattoo & piercing parlors, bike builder areas, demo rides, concerts and the list goes on and on.

In case there are any readers that don't know, Daytona Bike Week got its start back in January 24, 1937 with the running of the Daytona 200.  This historical event was a 3.2 mile beach and road course race.  In 1942 the Daytona 200 was discontinued because of World War II.  On February 24, 1947 the famous motorcycle race resumed and bike week as we know it started.  In those days the main festivities were mostly on Main Street in Daytona Beach.

Daytona Beach Bike Week has long since spread out to the rest of the city of Daytona as well as the rest of Volusia County.  Today Daytona Bike Week has expanded to the surrounding cities.  This spreading was partly due to the heavy handedness of the Daytona Police and the greediness of motel owners, restuarants, space leasers, and the city government.  It seems they all want to make a years wages in ten days off the bikers and vendors.

On the bright side Daytona Bike Week has everything you have ever heard about at any bike rally.  The legendary Daytona 200 is held every year at the Daytona International Speedway.  The Rat's Hole Custom Chopper Show is one of the most popular events with over 2,000 custom bike builders competing in two dozen or so different classes.

There are many other bike shows at other locations also.  They feature top motorcycle builders and celebrities, all of the major motorcycle manufacturers are offering demo rides on their new 2010 bikes, stunt shows, and vendors are everywhere selling everything a bike or biker could want.

There are many world famous biker bars.  Broken Spoke Saloon, Iron Horse Saloon, Boot Hill Saloon, Willies Tropical Tattoo, Gillys Pub 44, Smiley's, Full Moon Saloon, Froggys Saloon, Dirty Harrys and many others.  All have lots of things going on geared towards the Daytona Bike Week crowd.  The Bars have live music, bike shows, other big attractions, contests for the ladies, vendors, and more.

Daytona Bike Week is world famous for a long tradition for its endless-delicious food choices, drinking spots, live music, and brotherly socializing.  While visiting Daytona Bike Week Ghost Riders Leather would like for you to stop by our display and visit us and say hi to our road crew.  While there you can shop our motorcycle leather apparel, which we display on the internet, and Daytona  Bike Week souvenirs.

Our display is at the Whistle Junction, 1654 S Ridgewood Ave, South Daytona.  We are located just across the street from the world famous Miller's Custom motorcycle shop.  You can find Miller's location on any Bike Week map or Bike Week publication.  This is a one stop shopping location full of various vendors on both sides of the street.  They carry everything from motorcycles, parts, accessories, leather apparel, T-Shirts, jewelry, ridding glasses, and more.

If you get hungry while shopping there is plenty of food choices within walking distance.  If you eat light there is a Windy's and Arby's.  If you eat medium there is a Mexican and Itallian restuarant.   If you eat heavy there is the buffet style lunches and supper offered at the Whistle Junction.

You can do all this without long lines and plenty of shopping room.  Another great bonus is free street parking where you can keep an eye on your bike and park on pavement.  We hope to see each and every one of you there enjoying the fun in the sun.

Unfortunately everyone is not going to be able to attend the "Big Show."  Have no fret though.  If you are looking for any kind of motorcycle leather apparel you can still view our quality products online.  For motorcycle coats, vest, chaps, motorcycle leather accessories and much much more visit our catalog at www.GhostRidersLeather.com

If you enjoy attending motorcycle rallies and need to know dates and locations you can find them at Motorcycle Rallies & Events at http://GhostRidersLeather.blogspot.com.  This is a daily blog that keeps up with the latest info and changes.
